Beast Wars pt. 3

((I had to god mode a little in order to set the scene. I didn't do anything major so I hope you don't mind.))

As the sun rose over the waters of Lake George, fish were jumping, birds were chirping, the water was still, and a large maximal was making repairs to engines in his spaceship. Tuskinator was lying under a mass of circuits and pipes, trying to make the best of things. Between the crash and the attacks on the ship, everything was pretty messed up. However, it wasn't beyond fixable and as far as he could tell, miracles occasionally happened. Sea-whip was sitting close by in his beast form, each tentacle holding a different power tool. The octopus was having trouble paying attention. It had been a long night and all the sleep he got was when he was healing in the CR chamber. Not to mention repair work was boring as hell.

"Sooooooooooo," SeaWhip asked inquisitively, "We done yet?"

Tuskinator looked out from under the pipes and circuits. "At times like this, it is important to recall the story of the tortoise and how he won a race against the hare through sheer patience and determination. If haste is used recklessly in such an important matter as these repairs, it will only hinder us later. But if we are to work with both patience and speed, I will require the utensil for which I can better secure the dislodged circuit board."

SeaWhip stared blankly at Tuskinator for a few seconds before saying, "What?"

"Stop asking if I'm done yet and pass the damn screw driver." Tuskinator said, rolling his eyes.

"Well why didn't you just say so?" responded SeaWhip, handing him the tool he was holding in his fifth arm. Both of them were somewhat tense. That was to be expected. The blood of the dead human was still upon them (Figuratively and literally. They still hadn't gotten the stain off the surface of their ship) and the one who had spilled it, Linon, was now in the Prisoner holding cell.

Linon paced up and down his holding cell nervously. His teammates weren't taking the death in combat to lightly and he was trying to think up his defense case for when they were finally willing to deal with the issue. But the scenery wasn't doing much for his nerves. His gaze was quickly shifting between the force field wall keeping him locked inside the cell and the tracking system in his right hand. He had cased the cell for a means to escape, but to no avail. He was stuck where he was (not to mention that escaping wouldn't do much for his case) while his radar showed the enemy drawing very close to Manhattan island.

That's when the computer spoke over the loudspeaker, "Engines online at 2% output."

The halls were immediately filled with the sounds of a cheering Tuskinator as he shouted, "Whooooooo! We've got flight! We may steer like a rock and pilot just as fast, but a victory is a victory now matter how great of small!"

So there was some good news.
