Today the order of the day (in outline form!) was:
1) Laze around during the morning
2) Go with Nikki to purchase shoes for me. Nikki had found a very nice place with much selection and very reasonable prices. (Nikki finds a lot of good places for various things.) We actually got three pairs:
- A pair of "walking around" tennies which replaces the dilapidated pair from last year. Said dilapidated pair now becomes for fishing in possibly muddy areas and other similar tasks.
- A pair of working shoes to eventually replace the pair in which the heel is beginning to separate from the rear upper. (Planning to alternate the pairs at this point.)
- A pair of Gym use shoes, white soled so that I can eventually play racquetball with them (assuming I lose enough weight to feel remotely comfortable on a racquetball court again...) It took forever to find a pair that both a) Fit, and b) Has white soles. It took a little while to find the 'walking around' pair, and no time at all for the work pair.
3) While Nikki went for groceries, I went to the gym for the first time in, well, years.... I impressed myself with:
- 12 minutes on an exercycle at medium resistance
- 15 minutes on a treadmill on an up-and-down rotation, plus 3 minutes of cool down
- About 10-15 minutes walking around the walking track at a slow/medium pace.
4) Prep my gym bag for a possible gym visit tomorrow morning, get clothes ready, etc.
5) Help Nikki with getting groceries inside.
6) Dinner!
7) Watching Dr. Who with Nikki on PBS.
And now we're caught up to the future. A little laundry catch-up and then laze till bed.
I'm still trying to work out (pun intended) if I'm going to regularly try waking up earlier, getting out earlier, hitting the gym and then going to work from there, or if I'm going to try to get to work 15 minutes early, leave 15 minutes later, and then have an hour to work out and eat over the lunch period. (Fortunately, my excellent boss will let me do that.) At first I'm going to try the go-before-work strategy, and hope it gives me enough time.
That's about it for now. Expect many current weight posts in the future (if I don't Private them at first...)
