Today, riskyfellowes, ghanistarkiller, and my very own self are going to go to the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire. It promises to be a soggy experience, but one I nonetheless intend to relish.
Last year, Risky and I went (and ran into ghanistarkiller), and fond memories were made. IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT. See, marriage is hard. No two ways about it. Well, last year, my wonderful, determined husband and I had just put in a bout of very hard honing of marital communications and a mind-blowing deepening of spousal understanding, both of which invariably involve a rearranging of self atoms and great sacrifice. Not exactly LIGHT stuff. And THEN, for the first time since having acquired this newfound mutual empathy, WE HAD FUN. Oh, we drank mead, shared a smoked turkey leg, listened to fine music, and generally skipped about with stars in our hair. My devoted fellow bought me essential oils and lovely jewelry -- I've worn my amber ring EVERY DAY since! I mark that day as the beginning of a new, remarkably easy stage in our union. I think we have most of the BIG STUFF resolved. For now. Well, you know, I still steal the blankets every night, but we all have burdens in life!
