On September 21, 2022, 8 pm, at the venerable age of 14 years old, Meowhaus was helped to cross while contently and peacefully snuggled in my arms, wrapped in my cardigan, after a protracted battle with IBD which had progressed into cancer in addition to heart disease.
I adopted Meowhaus, then known as Houston, from Sunshine S Manning, who was fostering him on behalf of Philly PAWS, at the Fairmount Pet Shoppe on Oct 30, 2011. I took him home that day via taxi. Despite me having set up a place for him in my bathroom to acclimate, he immediately sauntered through my apartment, jumped on my bed, and made himself at home on my pillow. Since then, he eventually became known as Meowhaus and had been my loving, snuggly, if at times willful and spicy, companion through the many high and low points in my life.
When Meowhaus drew his last little breath, he took a part of me with him that is now forever lost.
Rest in peace my Handsome Boy Modeling School, my precious little Chicken Thigh... You are forever loved and forever missed....
How could I resist that face...
Meowhaus' (fka Houston) on my pillow on his first day in his forever home.
My favorite picture of him. So at peace and content snuggled up next to me.
I will miss kissing that precious lil' forehead of yours...
My precious little Chicken Thigh Guy...
Forever loved and forever missed...
