"Heads of rogue states, including Iran and North Korea, have been taught decisively that the best protection against a pre-emptive American strike is to acquire nuclear weapons themselves."
--The New York Times, in its endorsement of Senator Kerry and condemnation of President Bush (article reprinted on Kerry's website,

I always thought that pre-emptive strikes, like the one executed against Iraq, were actions taken by hostile nations of the sort shuffled into the "bad guy" category in popular fiction: the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, etc. It's hard to be patriotic when I see that America has degenerated into a nuclear-armed rogue state.
I don't like John Kerry. I never have. The guy who had my vote dropped out of the race before the Illinois Presidential primaries. But Bush needs to lose. A Bush win would represent America's seal of approval on the past four years, and that, to me, is unthinkable.
