A client called me to come talk to them about a project so I flew to Milwaukee on Wednesday and returned yesterday.
On Wednesday evening, I had dinner with Mom, Valerie and Justine (my niece). We went to Red Lobster and it was very nice.
On Thursday, I had my meeting all day. The client is 'battling' with the home office in another country about if they will do the project, or pay me to do it. I agreed to quote on the project in hopes the home office finds my quote to be low enough not to bother doing it themselves. It seemed pretty clear to me they didn't really want to do it. I submitted the quote, so we'll see. While I was there, I also talked with a few other folks there and managed to come home with two more projects anyway!
On Thursday evening, I had dinner with my lifelong friends: Brenda, Betsy and Alicia. Betsy brought her 4 month old baby and Alicia brought her daughter. We had a great time talking and laughing for hours that evening.
On Friday, I flew home.
My flights were probably the most interesting parts of the trip. I'm super spoiled, so I upgraded to business class whenever possible. On the way there, I sat next to a male flight attendant going to his next airport to work. We had a great conversation and he made sure I went home with extra cookies and little bottles of Jack Daniels.
My flight home was the funnest. I was only able to upgrade one leg of that flight. I sat next to a really cute guy named Jay. We were both drinking Jack and Coke and started talking, drinking, laughing, drinking, and just having the best time! We ended up with 4 drinks each on the 1 hour flight! At one point, we had extra Jack but no Coke. We were in our desent so the flight attendant was sitting down. Here's how it went:
Me: What are we going to do, Jay?
Jay: I don't know.
Me: She's sitting down and I can't get her attention!
Jay: Well, we could press the button (pointing overhead)
Me: Oh, we couldn't do that! That would be so bad!
Jay: You're right.
Me: Go ahead, I dare ya!
Jay: OK! and he just pushes it.
The flight attendant didn't like that much, but she gave us our sodas and we drink all the way from the clouds to the Richmond runway. Cal was waiting for me when we got off the plane so I introduced them. I gave him my business card, so I hope he gets on Facebook or something and I can find him again. We just had the best time!
