Emerald City Comicon

One of the few reasons I attend the ECCC yearly is for the media guests (the other being free and/or cheap swag). I usually only go one of the two days, but the anticipated guests got my nerd-boner going and I couldn't resist shelling out the extra $15 for the whole weekend. There were a few cosplayers that had exceeded expectations of Awesome, including a pair of Resident Evil fans that actually looked good (Chris and Jill); though there were more than enough obese narutards to backlash that. I also met a few of the more cool webcomic artists, including Gabe and Tycho, David Malki !, as well as that Indie cunt from Questionable Content.

I would have picture evidence for all of this, but alas I dropped my camera ten minutes into the convention.

Ray Park is a dick. I signed up for a "Mega-Convention" photo shoot with all the major media stars (BSG, Jewel, and Ray), but he was nowhere to be found both times I tried to get my photo taken. He was probably taking a crap or something. Other than that, he's a cool guy.

Jewel is hotter than hot in person. And she remembers Space Cases (not a good thing, mind you)!

Noel Neill is was of my childhood favorites, as I grew up watching the old black and white reruns of Superman on late-nite TV.

Wil Wheaton is such a massive nerd (moreso than myself), that he was late to a panel that he was hosting, as well as skipping one of his photo shoots simply to patrol the convention floor. I actually caught him nerding out at the Penny Arcade booth.

Aaron Douglas was pimping his new show, The Bridge. He also asked me about the Tortuga, which was awesome.

Tahmoh Penikett is... Tahmoh Penikett. He convinced me to watch Dollhouse (which I now like), and when I asked him what is was like to make out with Grace Park, responded with "What do you think it was like? Eh? Eh?"

If Michael Hogan plays a pirate in his next role, you have me to thank. He's Awesomer than Awesome, and doesn't afraid of anything. I gotta lay off the internet again...

So, all in all, I need to work more overtime to make up for the horrid amount that I spent on autographs and pictures alone.

Other than that, I've started actually attending college courses that aren't a requirement to work at my job, and suck ass at drawing.
