NAME. John Constantine.
D.O.B. May 10th, 1990
GRADE. 10th
GPA. 3.2
EXTRACURRICULARS. Band, International Club
DESCRIPTION. John is 5'7” with short dark-blond hair, which has a tendency towards scruffiness. He has blue eyes and fair skin, and his right ear is pierced. Outside of class, he usually wears band or other graphic t-shirts, tattered or torn jeans, and maybe a shirt and leather jacket or brown trench coat if it's cold or raining heavily. Sometimes he wears fingerless gloves, and a small, plain gold loop earring.
PERSONALITY. John is, at heart, a compassionate humanist, as he believes more in the worth and right of humanity to determine their own destinies, than in the overriding influence or guidance of the divine or supernatural. This is not to say that he doesn't believe in the divine and the supernatural, far from it - he'll read whatever he can get his hands on regarding the subject of the occult and religious. He also doesn't seem very compassionate most of the time, since he's a cynical adrenaline junkie with a foul mouth and a reckless streak. He is a little bit of a nosy, rude bastard.
HISTORY. John was born in Liverpool, England, on May the 10th 1990 to Mary Anne and Thomas Constantine. Mary Anne died giving birth to John and his stillborn twin brother due to an earlier abortion, which Thomas had forced her to undertake, weakened her womb. John in fact strangled his twin brother in the womb with his own umbilical cord. Unable to accept responsibility for his wife's death, Thomas blamed John instead and the pair grew up with a deep dislike for one another. John and his older sister, Cheryl, spent some time as children with their aunt and uncle in Northampton whilst Thomas was serving a prison sentence for stealing a neighbour's underwear, an incident fueled by his alcoholism. Thomas has recently moved to America in an attempt to get a fresh start on life, along with a new job, and brought John along for the ride whilst Cheryl stayed in England to attend university and get a job of her own. John suspects that the only reason he's been sent to St. Jude's is so that his dad doesn't have to look after him, and that suits him just fine.
FAMILY. Thomas Constantine, father, in his forties. May Anne Constantine, mother, deceased. Older sister Cheryl, in England along with aunt, uncle and surviving grandparents. He doesn't contact any of them much, except writing letters to Cheryl now and then.
OTHER. John is a dabbler in the occult, although mostly it's just know-how and random facts rather than anything practical at the moment. He's tried out a little divination before, but won't be mentioning anything else that he might have read about. Like, for instance, demonology, necromancy, illusion, occulmancy, golemancy, spirit wards or curses - although he'd really like to try that last one out on his blasted father. For now, his knowledge is kind of sketchy, but he will read any and all books on the subjects that he can find.
He is also, unwittingly, a weirdness magnet, and sometimes slips onto “the synchronicity highway” without realising it - an instinctive supernatural ability to be in the right place at the right time. This can lead to good luck for him, such as winning bets, but more often it means meeting the kind of people he needs to meet, new and useful allies or friends. As far as he's aware, though, he just sometimes runs into people he has “a good feeling about.”
