Thanksgiving!
Wow...it's been a really long time since I posted. Sorry!
I guess I didn't think I had much to write about, and when I did have something exciting to say, I didn't have the time to write.
But Thanksgiving this year is already pretty eventful, even though it hasn't started yet. (Well, technically it started two hours ago, but I'll consider the day beginning at dawn.)
Anyway! So far, I've:
-tried brining a turkey for the first time, and ended up dumping about a gallon of brine mix all over the kitchen counter, cabinets, and floor. Whoops. I also dumped brine into a bowl of cherries reserved for a pie, so I guess that second cherry pie is out. But..
-I started baking two pies at 12:30 am, because I couldn't be bothered to wake up early and bake them. So I think we're covered in the pie arena.
I'm terribly tired, but the pies still need to bake and I have some more cleaning up to do. Bah.
I'll try and post later today and let you know how the turkey and pies turned out. Fingers crossed!
