I want spring.
I want to feel alive. I want to see the sun shining. I want to see life all around me. I want that feeling you get when you walk into crisp clean air, not weighed down by the heaviness of winter and snow. That feeling of renewal when you're driving in your car and looking around at all the new beauty surrounding you. I want that smell of dirt. Freshly cut grass. Flowers first starting to bloom from their long winter sleep. I want to hear the birds chirping, the air full of life. The Wind blowing through the new green leaves. The fauna of the world coming out of hibernation and bringing the world to life. I don't want a dreary winter rain, that pours down it's icy tears. I want a spring rain. A rain you can smell before it happens. A rain that cleans the air, that freshens the earth, that makes the flowers grow. A soft spring rain, with warm air. Strong enough to leave a patter on your window, but soft enough to enjoy sitting outside to watch it, and perhaps, dance through.
I want spring.
I want to feel alive. Winter can leave a depressing note on the world near the end of its reign. All the snow has gone, leaving a dirty, dank, depressing landscape of slush, mud, and a gray air that just sits. There's no movement. There's no life. But that first warm day. That first day where the temperature goes just above 50 degrees, it feels like spring is here and now. Walking outside feels like a breath of fresh air, like a fog has been lifted. The sun brightly shining on all the dark remnants of snow, obscuring all, but making everything just seem that much more beautiful. And you think, this is life. This is weather to be danced in. This is weather to run through a field of flowers, embracing the warmth and beauty of the world. And soon those days will come. That one day may have led to further days of cold and winter, but it was a precursor for those lovely spring days to come. And they will come soon. And they will be wonderful.
I want spring.
I want to feel alive.
