I'm so glad it all worked for you! I guess it got out of hand with the length while I was trying to put the two prompts together and still write a story out of it.
I do miss the gay couple jokes too which is why I allowed myself to have some fun in here :) And yes, to fit the 'settling in' prompt, I also had fun adding everyday life challenges. It helped me fit my excuses in as well. I'm glad you liked them :D found a list on a website and I picked my favorite ones.
Oh and don't underestimate your abilities!! I would have never thought that I'd be able to write a crack and then I did. From what I've read from you, I'm not worried you could do the same hahaha ;D
And lastly, I thought about the cucumbers at first but then, like you said, Sam wouldn't willingly eat them. I actually used your cue from the original prompt (that it can be something mixed in with the ingredients) and started looking for different pickle recipes. It stood out from what I found that some people use mustard seeds. And that's how it happened :)
