Tall buildings

Today i went to Milan after some weeks of absence from the city. And i have to say that i didn't miss it that much.
I interviewed with a non-profit agency which works in cooperation with many humanitarian associations and the people seemed to me really nice and the neighborhood very friendly. It was far away from the consumerist downtown full of shops everywhere. I've never thought that the city center was a place for art, but in the last times i've found very little signs of culture, and this is very bad.
People, especially young people don't even go to school, considering that in the early morning instead of being in class are all populating shopping malls. Then you go to a gigantic bookstore of 6 floors...and it's incredible...no sign of even a teenagers...i was just looking for one of them, to justify the entire generation for not being in class, but my hunting was not productive.

When i first started to enjoy the pleasure of reading a book i was kind of young. My parents are not great readers or they just don't read many books, but newspapers or specialized magazines concerning their job. Nevertheless mum started to buy me the right books i guess, both classics and others that appealed her in some ways. I guess she gave me the right impulse, because i like very famous books, but also unpopular ones.
When i enter a bookstore i feel like i'm at the first appointment with someone special. I feel butterflies in my belly and i could spend there an entire day. I don't care about anything else that reading books, looking the cover, searching for an appealing image that pushes me to buy the book... i have to own it! I like libraries but the borrowing-lending relationship is not done for me.

Sometimes i like to sit on the floor, crossing my legs and looking at the books, associating them to that particular time of my life in which i've read it.

And also today i came out with 2 books in my hand...for the joy of mum who says i have already tons of books that we could sell them at the country fair...

I wish i could find a new 6 flores store every time i visit the city:)
