When i found this lurking in my files on my computer, i thought: 'I'll post it to LJ'
Then i read it and thought... 'Christmas fanfic? In February?'
So, here it is. *Points for strange-ness on my part.*
Enjoy it :)

Winter Bliss.

Fai walked around the Christmas market looking lost and confused. He had gotten separated from Kurogane about half an hour ago. He looked around, desperately searching for Kurogane in the crowds. Calm down, Fai, He thought, I can easily get out of this. Just stay calm! You’re a grown man after all! Show some courage and keep going! He strode onwards with confidence, stopping to take a look at some of the stalls. The whole market smelled of cinnamon and various other spices. Fai was enjoying himself, even if he was lost.

‘Fai!’ He heard his name being called and he spun around to see Kurogane running up to him.

‘I never thought I’d find you. It’s so big here. We’ve lost the others, too.’ Fai knew that Kurogane was referring to Mokona, Syaoran and Sakura but he just shook his head and linked Kurogane’s arm.

‘Thank you for finding me again.’ He said, smiling. Kurogane looked at him and smiled back. ‘Your smile is contagious, you know that?’

‘My secret weapon. Let’s walk a bit, I’m getting cold.’ Fai said. They walked for a while and then Fai spotted a café.

‘Do you want to stop here for a while?’ Fai asked, looking into the window to see a traditional log fire.

‘I thought we were searching for the others.’ Kurogane replied.

‘But… we never spend any time together. I’d like it if we could have some time on our own for a while.’ Fai said and Kurogane clasped Fai’s hand and walked towards the café.

‘They know where to go if they don’t find us.’ He said. Fai smiled and they walked into the café.

It was nice inside and they took a seat in one of the quieter corners. There was a couch along the wall instead of seats which instantly made everything seem homely and cosy.

‘It’s going dark. We should go find the kids soon.’ Kurogane said.

‘It’s so cosy in here, Kurogane.’ Fai said.

‘Did you listen to what I just said?’

‘So warm, so cosy…’ Fai closed his eyes and smiled. The log fire crackled. Kurogane put his arms around him, Fai leaned into him.

‘Ahem, can I take an order?’ Their embrace was broken by one of the waitresses.

Fai sat up and smiled at her. ‘What’s warming? It’s so cold outside.’ He said.

‘We can do hot beverages and if you’re after food the speciality cake today is cinnamon and ginger, and there are some more on the counter.’

‘I’ll have the cinnamon and ginger cake with… hot mulled spiced wine, please.’ Fai said and the waitress wrote it down.

‘I’ll just have the mulled wine, please.’ Kurogane said.

‘Aren’t you hungry?’ Fai asked as the waitress wrote down his order.

‘No, I haven’t been hungry all day.’

‘Is that all?’ She asked.

‘Yes, thank you.’ Kurogane said and the waitress walked away. Fai looked up.

‘Mistletoe…’ He said, looking at Kurogane. Kurogane held his hand and looked down at him. His eyes scanned over Fai’s face for a moment or two-searching out the detail in his blue eyes, his blond hair, his soft skin… Then he leant down and kissed him. They pulled away after a moment or two and Fai smiled and looked into Kurogane’s eyes.

‘We need to buy some mistletoe if it means you’re going to kiss me like that every time we’re under it.’

‘I’ll second that, I’m sure they sell it here.’ Kurogane said. The waitress arrived with their orders, the wine was steaming and the cake looked great.

‘Okay, that’ll be £5.70 please.’ She said. Fai got his wallet out but Kurogane stopped him.

‘Kurogane?’

‘It’s on me.’ He said, handing over the money. The waitress thanked them and went to put the money in the counter. Fai took a sip of the wine; it was great-heated to the perfect temperature.

‘Mmmm, this is great.’ He said. They sat in the café for about half an hour, chatting, laughing and just enjoying their time together. Eventually, they got up and left the café.

‘Now, we need to find the kids.’ Fai said, linking Kurogane’s arm and snuggling into him, he badly wanted to go and sit down with him again-but he knew he had to find the others. The market had quietened down considerably and they walked around, stopping to look at some of the stalls. Fai bought some mistletoe and a scarf. He wrapped the scarf around Kurogane’s neck.

‘That’s for paying in the café.’

‘Fai, you didn’t have to.’ Kurogane said.

‘Now, now, it isn’t polite to refuse a gift.’ Fai smiled.

‘Thank you.’ Kurogane said. They walked around for about an hour and eventually they found the others. Sakura was carrying a load of bags and Syaoran was weighed down with bags too.

‘We’re done shopping then?’ Fai asked and smiled. Syaoran, Sakura and Mokona nodded. Kurogane looked reluctant.

‘What’s wrong, Kurogane? Don’t you want to go home yet?’

‘I need something…Just wait here, I won’t be long.’ Kurogane said, he walked away and Mokona followed him.

‘I wonder where Kuro-Pii is off to…’ Fai said. Sakura was falling asleep and Syaoran’s eyes looked tired. Fai was pretty tired too, but he had to stay awake-he couldn’t just flop down on the pavement.

After about ten minutes Kurogane came running back, Mokona was on his shoulder.

‘Okay…Now we can go.’ Kurogane said and they picked up their bags and made their way back home. Fai wondered where Kurogane had been but he decided not to question him-after all, he was so tired and a nice warm bed sounded nice right now…

They arrived back at the house they were renting while they were in this country and Sakura went straight to bed along with Mokona. Syaoran went to bed shortly afterwards and Kurogane and Fai were left alone.

‘Do you want to sleep?’ Kurogane asked.

‘Not just yet…’ Fai said, even though he would have preferred to have said yes-but he wanted to stay with Kurogane.

‘I do… so, I’ll see you in the morning I guess.’ Kurogane said-which surprised Fai. He turned to leave.

‘Kurogane, Wait.’ Fai said. Kurogane stopped in the doorway.

‘What?’ He asked. Fai stood behind him and wrapped his arms around him.

‘Goodnight.’ He said. Kurogane turned around and embraced him properly. Fai reached up and kissed him.

‘We should go upstairs.’ Kurogane said, breaking the kiss.

‘We’ll wake the kids up.’ Fai said, but he already knew that what was going to happen was inevitable.

‘We’ll shut the door, come on Fai.’ Kurogane said, dragging Fai up the stairs. They went into Fai’s bedroom and Kurogane pushed him onto the bed, kissing him. Fai kissed him back and then pulled his shirt off. Kurogane pulled Fai’s shirt off and kissed his neck. Fai leaned into every kiss, every touch. Kurogane pulled Fai’s belt off, kissed his stomach and ran his hands all over his body. Fai pulled Kurogane’s belt off, then his jeans.

‘Are you…sure?’ Kurogane said. Fai said an obvious ‘yes’ with a kiss. Kurogane pulled Fai’s jeans off and then pulled him on top of him. Fai pinned Kurogane to the bed and then got on his hands and knees over him. Kurogane put his hands on Fai’s shoulder blades and gently caressed them, and then he moved down to the small of his back they kissed and what happened next was rushed and blurred, it all happened so fast…

The next morning Fai lay next to Kurogane. The duvet was wrapped around them and Fai was the first to wake. He looked at the windows, they were steamed up-a typical result of what had taken place the last night he looked around the room and found their clothes scattered around the room; he blushed as he saw his underwear in one of the corners then he simply smiled and Kurogane woke up a few moments later.

‘Morning baby.’ He said, pulling Fai close and kissing him.

‘Morning, I hope we didn’t make too much noise last night...’ Fai said.

‘Hmm…Even if we did wake the kids up it would have been your fault, you’re a wild one, Fai.’ Kurogane teased. Fai laughed and wrapped his arms around him.

‘Merry Christmas, Kurogane.’ Fai said-remembering the date.

‘Merry Christmas. Wait one minute… don’t go anywhere.’

‘Where could I go? I have to get dressed first, unless you want me to walk round like this all day.’ Fai said.

‘Fine by me.’ Kurogane said, winking at him.

‘I’d get arrested, y’know.’ Fai laughed and Kurogane grabbed his coat from the radiator and wrapped it around himself. He got up and rummaged around in one of the bags from the market. Fai watched him admiringly, checking out his spiky hair and masculine face. Eventually, he found what he was looking for and walked back over to Fai.

‘Here. It’s not perfect but, Merry Christmas.’ Kurogane said, handing a small parcel to Fai.

‘I feel terrible now! I didn’t get you anything!’ Fai said.

‘Hey, you got me the scarf, and what we did last night-well, that’s enough to satisfy anyone.’ Kurogane said, ‘Now open it. I want to see what you think.’

Fai opened the package and found a black rectangle shaped box. He opened it and there, resting on white satin, was a necklace. It was a small heart shaped silver necklace and engraved on the front were the words ‘Fai, I love you.’

‘Kurogane… Thank you so much.’ He said-tears came to his eyes and he pulled himself up and hugged him, the duvet slipped and Kurogane laughed and pulled it back over him.

‘It’s a locket so, open it and see what’s inside.’ He said. Fai opened it and inside there were two pictures. One on the left of himself-smiling and then on the right of Kurogane.

‘That’s not it, turn it over.’ Kurogane said. Fai looked on the back of the locket and there was another picture-this one was covered over with glass-it was a picture of them both. Someone must have taken it while they were in the café-it was a picture of their kiss under the mistletoe. Fai looked at Kurogane and tears welled up in his eyes. He flung his arms round him and said ‘Thank you’ over and over again.

‘I love you, Fai.’

‘I love you, too. Thank you so much-this is honestly the best present anyone has ever given to me.’

‘Anything for you.’

Kurogane picked up the necklace and put it around Fai’s neck. It was perfect. He could either have it on show or wear it under his clothes.

‘One thing is for sure. I won’t take it off.’ Kurogane kissed him and smiled.

‘One thing is for sure for me, too.’ Kurogane said.

‘What is it?’ Fai asked. Kurogane wrapped his arms around Fai and held him.

‘I won’t ever let you go.’
