Clinton Kelly: Freakin' Fabulous

May 26, 2009 18:37

For my birthday, my mom gave me Clinton Kelly's book Freakin' Fabulous.
Quite embarassingly, I just got around to reading more than the back cover.

I'd like to share an excerpt from the dedication page:

"It is with sincere thanks to you that I have learned my 12 most cherished life lessons:

1. Truly good people sometimes wear really bad denim shorts.
2. Dress up a little to go to the dentist.
3. Every car trip goes faster when you sing.
4. Sometimes the floor of a Parisian hotel bathroom is the best place for stinky cheese and a little heart to heart.
5. If you want to make someone really happy, have a surprise plate of warm pork chops and sauerkraut waiting on the table for him when he gets home from work.
6. Grow your own peas.
7. When reading a child's tea leaves, tell him you see an important letter being delivered. Then, send him a letter.
8. Even the prettiest ducks can be ferocious.
9. At least once a year, you must lie at the ocean's edge and let the waves break over you.
10. Spying on people might be fun, but it's also wrong.
11. Don't drink and dial.
12. Love beyond."
