soooooooooooooooo...
o man. whatta weekend! i spent friday night in Rochester, working on a motorcycle build. my boy evan showed me a ton of neat tricks for fabricating the mounts to exhaust pipes. i felt useful here and there, actually! it was like "hey trish - hook up the starter" and i did. or "hey trish, i need a 7/16 t-handle allen wrench" and i'd grab it. i got to flex my brains a smidge, get some grease under my nails and feel helpful.
plus i got to see some people i dont see very often and that warmed my heart a ton.
i got to see paul, one of my very good friends from Missouri. he runs Bare Knuckle Choppers. such a cool guy. we had some beers and a heart to heart... it was really nice.
and Evan, who i only see on the weekends sometimes, but he's always a good time. and his partner Jason, who is just a genuine gold hearted guy. and a laugh riot!!!
and eric from VooDoo choppers. who i dont know really well but i'm starting to like him a lot. his girl Jordan is AWESOME.
anyway. a good handful of people working together. had a nice dinner (a REALLY good sante fe chicken salad sans the chicken - YUM)
drank some beers, stayed up late, and then got up early saturday to get more shit done.
worked on the bike, and then parted ways. i headed for Birch Run, where i met up with Jason and Evan at their show booth.
so neat. they had guitar hero 3 going and the kids that were at teh show with their parents were LOVING it.
after the show we all got silly with some good dinner and some more beers, and then headed for the hotel.
they were going to room like 10 guys and myself in a room. but i decided that wasnt such a good idea, so i got my own room hahahah.
the next day we had breakfast, ran their booth, and i stayed all day. we loaded up in the bitter cold and parted ways again.
i think im going to start taking saturdays off at the tattoo shop. i'll swap thursday nights for saturdays. i'm just whipped. and every time i have a weekend where i dont work there, even if i'm doing work stuff for Baker, i'm still WAY less stressed.
so yeah. good weekend. i'm looking forward to the next two weekends. lauren starts school monday so this saturday is a day for FUN. and the weekend after is Cinci. which happens to be the show that i return home from EVERY year with life changing goals... interesting. just go read my first few entries from Feb the last few years. its crazy!
