Eee! I'm so proud of myself! I keep waiting for nice weather to go outside and take photos in good light, but it's been 2 weeks of windy wind and lots of rain. Since I'm giving the quilt away on the weekend, I would rather bad photos then none at all!

There are a few things about this quilt that I don't really like - I choose cheap batting, and I think it shows. The quilt is stiff and rather heavy, making it more suitable for a quilt to crawl on then nap under (not that those aren't useful!). Second, it's rather too large for a crib quilt, I should have made it a bit shorter, but I didn't want to ruin my design. All in all, not biggies - they will still love it!

The back is lined in a soft flannel.

I LOVED doing the hand stitching on the binding WAY more then I thought I would! I purchased a thimble after reading a tutorial on how and why to use one. Something I had never thought of before is that if you don't use a thimble to push the needle through, then you have to grip the needle rather hard to pull it through. After doing this over and over and over, it can lead to a lot of arm pain! So I was determined to try. I cannot even think how I would have done this without one! It was so simple, so easy, and made the act of stitching so much easier. I did manage to stab my left thumb about 5 or 6 times, but that's just me needing to be more careful!

Also - I seem to have figured out flickr picture posting! It's not hard at all LOL.
