Aaaaaahhhhhh. A girls night sans Audrey was just what I needed! :D
Thursday I would have slept in, but there were some seriously crazy pregnancy dreams happening there and I just couldn't fall back asleep! :( So I was up, showered, packed, ipod refreshed, and out the door to shop at the mall. I was on the hunt for some new dressy shoes and a white blouse. I met up with Katie, who was joining us for the Great Ottawa Adventure! I did not find a white blouse (I think there were like 3 in the whole of the mall, and they either didn't fit or they were too expensive), but I found a pretty blue top on sale (with a lot of cleavage - where did that come from? :D ), and a pair of dressy-ish black Sketchers. I tried on a lot of flats, but none were comfy enough to walk in for more then 30 seconds. When I put on the Sketchers, my feet did a happy dance. They are so comfy! I wanted to get something a little nicer, but these will do for now.
Afterwards, we went home for a bit, then stopped to pick up Brittany and were on our way! It was a very nice drive, we picked up Talie in Ottawa and went to the hotel.
I must say, I am super proud of my Ottawa driving skills. I didn't get lost or freak out once!
Our evening consisted of getting super large coffees at Starbucks (also - buy one get one free on their Christmas drinks this weekend between 2-5pm.), playing Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit, going to East Side Marios for drinks and appetizers (I had a Cotton Candy Cosmo - they came over with a cup stuffed with cotton candy and poured the drink over top. Divine!), back to the room to lounge around, getting dressed up and heading to the movie!
We had reserved seats, so we didn't have to wait in line at all. It was wonderful! We were at the Cineplex version of Imax, and I was so worried during the previews that I wouldn't be able to handle the bass. However, it calmed down during the movie.
I don't have too much too say about the movie, other then I really liked it! I totally forgot that Harry and Hermione have a makeout scene in the books, so I was a little shocked. I can't wait for the second one!
We got back to the hotel to try and sleep and ended up laughing for an hour or so, and just having fun.
Today we got up lateish (around 9.. it's late for me!), packed, had breakfast at the hotel, went to this AMAZING Christian bookstore called
Salem Storehouse. I stocked up, let me tell you. I spent a large amount of money that I am not saying outloud so Teddy doesn't freak out (he told me not to tell him, so it's my secret now! :D). I got paid a REALLY good amount of money, so I am not at all put out by this. I also picked up some new
Veggie Tales movies, some dry Bible highlighters, and some accessories. I am so super happy with my book choices, I can't wait to start them!
After that we hung around at the mall for a while, where I found
Audrey's
Christmas presents! I am so pleased to have that over with. :P I have to remember to set up her Ikea art station for Christmas too - I think she's old enough for it now. I will put it in her room or something, we will see.
The drive home was a little hard - we were all tired and quiet. Eventually I just started to sing along to the music and tap my feet and stuff - what else can one do? :P But the roads were nice, no scary people.
Now I'm home, finishing up some cleaning before I head to bed to finish Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (I started to skim through the second half last night), and start one of my shiny new romances. Tomorrow - to work!
