here we go again!

Back to school. We started on Monday...and now we are already in the swing...if you know what I mean. I found out that only 2-3 people will be getting bumped up to ADN so I'm pretty sure that I can kiss my chances good bye on that. It's ok, it's ok....I can work for about a year...hmm maybe I will take some classes that I will need to go to USA and get my BSN...I could take like Chem...and economics and whatever else I need to go to USA. That would be doable. When I think about it that way though it seems like I'm going to be in school forever just for a bachelor's degree...argggggh. Whatever. One day I will have my masters and be making lots o' dough! :) Anyway I'm taking maternal and pediatric nursing and adult nursing one. I'm really excited about mat/ped nursing we only go 7 days to clinicals in that class though. We go like...1 to labor/deliver, 1 to the nursery, 2 to pediatrics, and 3 to post partum care. I'm really excited about learning all of this stuff before I get pregnant, what an advantage to have all of this knowledge! So I'm think I'm going to soak it up like a sponge. My adult nursing class is gonna be different. This is the real class this semester. We start our clinicals there the first friday of Feb. Next tuesday we are going to orientation at Mobile Infirmary. So we are getting going pretty fast. We are learning about fluid overload/deficit, electrolyte imbalance, acid/base imbalance...and iv therapy right now. In lab we are going to start reviewing the sterile field set up, work on venipuncture(YYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK:( ) inserting iv's, ...and how to draw labs. So I'm a little bit nervous about this. I have mental issues concerning veins and needles-esp a combination of the two. I guess this is the best type of therapy right? :) Anyway So I'm about to be really busy again for another four months.
Tomorrow I have a dosage calculation test...we have to take one every semester to make sure we are pro's at it. We have to make an 80 to pass. So I have to study for that tonight.

Oh and David's schedule is crazy. He is working approx 40 hrs a week and going to school mon-thurs nights. Taking 13 hrs of classes...crazy. But when we are done with all of this is definatly going to pay off. Anyway now that I've rambled enough, I'm gonna go get on the eliptical machine and stick to my new years resolution(lose 20 lbs, the other one is to go skiing next xmas:D)
