NY here I come!

Well I'm all booked up for my trip to New York for the marathon; Tony is able to travel with me.. we thought he may have to stay due to his Dad's illness, but he's made a good recovery and well & truly on the mend. I'm staying on 43rd as it's only a few blocks from Central Park and the finish line of the race... I'll be able to collapse in the room afterwards!!   ; 0)
I have made an itinery for my weekend so I can see most of the things I'd like to: Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Empire State etc (ok.. I know - predictable, but I am a tourist after all!) then we travel up to Niagra on monday... I guess I'll sleep most of the trip but the falls have to be seen!

We were hoping to get to Toronto but that's been shelved for this year... another time I guess.

My only worry now is that I've not reached the mileage I should have for my training (had a few chesty colds which have slowed my training)... long run has not progressed beyond 15 miles and I should be close to 18 or 20 by now so that I can begin tapering over the next few weeks ... aaghh!!  :-(
Well, I'm going to give it my best shot anyhow... no records to break, or races to win, just a gentle jog around the sights of New York for charity!!
See you all soon....

tired, excited, worried, aching..., scared
