Is it time for camp yet??
okay so..since school gets over in may and camp doesn't start until the end of june and I drive around ny like its my job..i have to have a real pre-camp job for a bit. so right now i am at the horseheads youth bureau that still owns my life despite the fact that i graduated from high school 2 years ago..but that's okay..Everyone is gone on lunch so i am supposta be handling the phones except no one has called since 12:30 and i have myspace stalked everyone i know about 5 times and im kind of bored and so ..no better time for an update...
1. I got this sweet job-ish deal for next year with AmeriCorps. The AmeriCoprs motto is "getting things done" and since that's what i'm about, that's what im gonna do. I have 900 hours to do at the LeRoy Christian Community Center in their afterschool, youth court, and teen programs. Because I love kids and i used to be a beast at youth court, I think it will be the sweetest thing ever. I went up for an interview and to see the kids and program before school got out and i'm real pumped. Unfortunately, if i want to be in AmeriCorps and be sane, i have to cut WAY back on P4K hours, and i might miss those kids and ill definitely miss the people i work with, but im sure ill be around sometimes...
2. I am a beast at college..and in the fall when I get to take Skills in Swimming for gym class and have someone teach me how to swim, ill be a bigger beast at college..if that's possible..
3. Seneca lake is real cold right now...in case anyone was wondering..and i'm sure that the 5 western-most fingerlakes are pretty cold too..However, because i'm a beast at swimming and taking part in random dirty hippie-like activities, i will be swimming in the abovementioned lakes on saturday..and im pretty freaking pumped
4. If anyone is a lifeguard and wants a job, you can work at camp whitman..we need a lifeguard and i don't want to be it...nonetheless, i will be waterfront certified as of 3pm tomorrow...no further comments for now
5. The foster kid, Sam, lost his spot at daycare in may to some full-time kids. Since, hopefully, he will be going home soon, my parents didnt think it would be fair to him to make him go somewhere else to get used to a new daycare just before going home..because he's two and is confused out of his mind right now...
apparently it's time to go do real work..perhaps update part B will come later after i GIVE BLOOD!!! (I hope..pray to jesus and tell him to make sure my iron is high enough..thanks)
