So...I went to the doctor yesterday morning to find out what is wrong with my thumb. It wasn't broken...but it actually would be easier if it was.

First off, I have nerve damage. I haven't lost feeling in my thumb...but the feeling that I do have isn't normal. I can't remember what it is called, but its in between complete loss of feeling and perfectly normal feeling.

Second, the doctor thinks that I had an infection in my tendons...which would have caused them to swell...which would explain why it stays bent at such a strange angle and why I can't straighten it. The nurse had to manually straighten my thumb so she could x-ray it! I'm on anti-inflammatory meds right now...if I can't move my thumb perfectly by this Friday, I'll have to see an orthopedic surgeon. I don't know how long it would take this stuff to kick in if it was going to work...but so far, nothing has changed. Its starting to get annoying. The thumb is relaxed whenever it is straight or just slightly bent, well...well whenever I try to straighten my thumb, its like trying to stretch a tightly coiled spring. My thumb is so tense because it is stuck in this ben position. Its driving me nuts. I feel like all my stress has moved to my thumb...like a big knot or something. I hate it.
