WOO! Including my most recent check and my federal tax return (haven't mailed it in yet, but when it comes it will go straight into my fund) I have saved $1517.15 for Brazil!!11!!11!! Yay.
I know i've been cheating a lot, but i'm still pretty proud of myself, considering after I bought my plane ticket in September I was down at $0. I get 9 more checks befoe I quit McDonalds. I already wrote my last day in the book, I am quitting on June 11. It's the last day of the first pay period in June. If I worked in the 2nd pay period I wouldn't get my check til I came back from Brazil, so I don't see the point. And i'm not coming back this time. And i've given way more than 2 weeks notice this time (last time I quit on the spot).
I'm hoping i'll make at least $2000-$2500 more in those 9 checks.. I should be able to save at least half of that, I have to spend some of it on Jamaica and stuff.
And when Piedmont classes end in the beginning of May I might get a 2nd job. I mean, I'd only be going to school like, 13 hours a week so it'd be pretty lame not to work at least 50 hours, but I don't know, i'd have to quit it in 6 weeks anyways. But maybe. So yeah, I should have $2500 from what i've saved so far, plus McD's. And i'm hoping for at least $200 for my birthday (from relatives and stuff, and my now rich brother!!!) and at least $300-$500 for graduation. (My brother got the most so far, like, $600, for some reason not as many relatives sent my sisters money...)
And now that my brother is richer than my parents, life is just that much sweeter. He keeps getting job offers left and right, he just got one for $85,000 and he told his current company, and they said they'll fire his boss, give him his bosses' job and pay him $95,000 if he'll stay. Jesus christ. He just graduated college less than 2 years ago. I pointed out that his boss probably has a wife and kids to feed and my mom said not to tell my brother that. But yeah, it used to be mom and dad would give you money from "everyone" but not we all get stuff from mom and dad and william. For Christmas my folks gave me $100... and so did my brother! And I bet he'll give me that much for my birthday (that's what he gave my sisters) and for graduation. I sound SOO greedy right now, but seriously. My brother doesn't really get vacation time and he has most of what he wants that's material, so what's he gonna spend his money on but his loving sisters?
Plus, I need money for the bus to Miami, hostel in Miami, and when I get back to America, money for RENT and UTILITIES and CLASSES and BOOKS and FOOD. The real world sucks.
