I hate going through life thinking you can spell to a reasonable degree and then one day realizing there are many many everyday words you can't spell without checking to see if they are right. like outrageous or spontaneity or squirrel...tricky little bastards...
in other news. You want to know what's appalling? ZATHURA. I saw the preview for the first time today. Pretty much, I thought it was a geico commercial and was disgusted to find out it's a real movie. Basic premise you might ask? some little kids find an old game and start playing it, but what happens in the game begins to happen to them in real life and they have to finish the game. Ring any bells? JUMANJI. So I did a little research. The same guy wrote both children's books. Chris Van Allsburg... WHAT? Who let him get away with that? Well, it's exactly the same story but the games have different made up names and one has a jungle theme and one has a space theme... good enough! He also wrote the Polar Express... but still.

Okay. So upon looking at the book links (just go to barnesandnoble.com and type it in if you're interested) I'm less upset because a. the guy does his own artwork and it looks pretty good b. apparently Zathura is supposed to be a sequel, like, the same kids find the game with their Jumanji game. A little far fetched, but still. yeah. I'm still annoyed at the lack of creativity in the world.
What else? Nothing really. Summer is fading and I love the way fall smells and feels in the afternoons. The way the sun seems golden in the fall for no particular reason but it does. It's that blissful few weeks before it gets really cold and I begin to wish people could hibernate through winter. I'd sleep off the second half of november right up until the middle of march. I'd like to wake up for New Years, but that's it.
If I roll the windows up in my car and run the heat and listen to Beck and Jack Johnson it's easy to pretend I live in a world of perpetual summer.
