Without You Is How I Disappear

SO. Projekt Revolution yesterday.

First of all. It was a frickin twelve hour concert, and I am really bummed about that. I would have really liked to see Madina Lake, Mindless Self Indulgence, and Placebo, but ML was on at 12:45, MSI at 3:20, and Placebo at 5, then TBS wasn't on until 6:45. And I went by myself, you can't leave and come back, the food cost a fortune, and I really had no patience to be there all day. But I was a little sad in the face. :(

Anyway.
Taking Back Sunday. Oh I love them! Adam Lazarra really, really looks like William Beckett. Like, not only do they look alike, but they act alike, they do the same sorts of movements on stage. It was kinda spooky. He swung his mic a lot and danced. I wanted to take him home. They played pretty much all songs I recognized, but I don't remember the names. Except 'Liar', I know 'Liar'. They played that.

In between they had people texting stuff to the TVs. Someone texted "Scream if you love William Beckett" which amused me. I texted 'santi', and that got some cheers. I texted two other things but they never got on screen, sadtimes.

My Chemical Romance. Oh my lord. Gerard is a giant goofball. People brought them feather boas. Apparently, it's a mark of how good the MCR set will be by how many boas they get. Oh Gerard. He jumped all the time and was so dorky [Jodie, no joke, I was reminded of the wall children]. During Welcome to the Black Parade sparks shot from the ceiling, and he made this smug little face and said, "Impressive, no?". Oh man, there is too much to say. ROFL. In any case, I wanted to take him home too. They brought out couches and they all sat down and sipped lemonade and 'had a break'. There were pyrotechnics. Bob actually looked really tired the whole time. They had two drummers for Teenagers. Frank wore an oxygen mask with a big clock attached to it, and it kept getting in the way of his guitar. Gerard said that Mikey had gotten mugged in Hartford.

Gee sang The Umbrella Song. No comment.

They only played songs from The Back Parade, I think they played the whole album... they ended on Cancer. And it was fucking brilliant. I don't think anyone else could have ended on the slowest song in their set and still brought the fucking house down. Damn it all I adore those guys.

Linkin Park. Eh.
No, they were good. They had much less performance aspect than MCR did, so it was weird, like MCR should have been the headliner, they acted much more like it. Chester had one hell of a bad relationship, didn't he? My god! He was like KING OF ALL EMO EVER. I don't know most of their new songs, but I liked some of the lyrics and wrote them down, and they did play all their old stuff that I knew. There was a part in the middle when they played a bunch of slow emo songs in a row, that was a little draining. They ended on Bleed It Out, which is their new single, and then their encore started with a long explanation of their MusicForRelief.org project, which, yeah, good cause, definitely, but dude, not for the encore! And then the song they wrote about Hurricane Katrina. I left. Thank you Chester, I get emo just fine on my own.

But it was definitely a good show - MCR was totes the best. ;)

BTW. My mom danced with Benji from So You Think You Can Dance. And later he cross dressed and danced with a guy to a song about being gay. O_O
