'Neighbors' in Latin
I should post this before I forget. I translated 'Neighbors' into Latin. Sorry, I have no long marks to offer you.
c = k, like cat
g - always hard, like Gabe, never like gym
v = w
qu = kw (NOT like in French)
ae = 'eye'
i = 'eeeee'
'i' before a vowel = y, so 'iam' = 'yahm'
there are NO silent letters. every vowel (except as listed in above cases) is a separate syllable.

complenti camera
frequentatus populis
emittentis vis fortes.
fores clausi,
agit balneum,
sentioque non agnoscere aliquem,
sed non curo,
quod vicini sunt questi
fere in noctes,

calls the crowd to quiet;
the neighbors have complained damn near every night.

There's no one left,
lying on the second-storey floor-boards,
and I'm sure they heard next door.
But the bottles are hollow now
and there's room at the bottom,
and I would take it all back
if I could, but I won't!
1. Latin is not English in code.
2. You can't translate word for word if you want to keep the rhyme and rhythm.
3. You are trying to express not only the words and their meaning, but also the sound of the song.
4. TAI songs have (what seems to me as) more than the usual amount of internal rhyme and alliteration, making it more than usually difficult to capture the sound in the translation.
