yes, it's that time of the year again
Oh yes, it's that time of the year again. I don't think I've ever written how much I love Christmas. Maybe not the day itself, but the atmosphere it brings, the feelings, the anxiety. You see, I finish school on the seventh of December, which means no more school until March. Which means holidays -- summer holidays. Which means pool, sleeping, really cold drinks, friends, books, beach, sun and other stuff which depend on my mood, really.
So, from the very first day of December (which also means, I'm done with the final exams) we start preparing ourselves for Christmas. We practically don't have classes, even, which makes it even more fun because you go to school to absolutely nothing. Besides, this year is the last year I will spend in my school.The building, that is. I'm going to be with the older guys next year, in the other building.
Oh, how times change. It's freaky how fast life goes, doesn't it? I was just searching for some pictures I was sure I had posted here (but hadn't, in the end) and found a comment left by melissarrr in one of my posts. I never even imagined I had known that girl for nearly a year. It still feels like yesterday.
Step 1.
+ Make a post to your LJ.
The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a ______ icon that's just for me.") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD.") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
+ If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your e-mail address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. (Note: home address, not required!)
+ Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

+ Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream pure-bred basset hound for free -- do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
o1. Art. Oh man I can't even express how much I would love some art, whether it's fanart, original art, sketches, doodles, anything.
o2. Something hand made. You've got a little angel you made by yourself when you were twelve and still have it, even though it's old and dirty now? I don't care. If you have made it, then I love it already. Did you burn a CD you think I would like to hear? Send it away! Sweets? I love sweets.
o3. Letters! Cards! Christmas cards! Notes! Ecards! Emails! Tell me about your life.
o4. A wig. I just love wigs. I've had this fascination with them for about two years, now. Especially if they seem real.
o5. Books. Ebooks, even. Whatever. Something to read, please! I'm in desperate need. Most books that I have been recommended aren't available here or are ridiculously expensive.
o6. Pictures from where you live, from you, the people that are important in your life, whatever.
o7. Art. Again. Because it's that important for me.
o8. To finish my novel for NaNo. I hope I'll reach the 50k. And for the people who are doing it this year too. Wouldn't that be brilliant?
