Today was a somewhat successful day. It saw me purchasing a most pretty red dress - hand wash only (*sigh*) but it makes me look smashing - and a pair of rather sturdier red shoes. On the whole, shoe stores seem to be of the opinion that at a meagre 41.5 I seem to have absurdly, monstrously huge feet that deserve to be clad in monstrously gross things the exact shape and colour range of GDR rubber boots (not the pretty rubber boots they have now). They look like ships. And forget about high heels. Or knee high laced boots. Or high-heeled knee-high laced boots! The red shoes are flat and ankle-high, but they are laced, I guess, so, one out of three isn't bad and also the dress is admittedly awesome.
Also, some progress on the thesis front, one chapter to tackle still and the rest to extensively revisit and diagrams to draw, but I guess I'm well on my way to academic honours (also, not nervous about the outcome in the least, uh. I mean, what if they hate it? This is far, far worse than writing fanfic, let me tell you. Fanfic always has the 'it was all a dream/ trousers of time/ I had too much coffeeeee' excuse for inconsistencies. Thesis writing demands stringing sentences together in a logical fashion *flails* and you absolutely cannot tack a "I wrote this last night while watching Popstars" onto the beginning.)
Also, Popstars. This recent access to a working TV had me watching casting shows about twice, and they might be even more evil than the usual reality shows. Those exploit grown-up people who're just embarrassing themselves. Casting shows have grown up people who should really know better bullying teenagers until they cry and then tell them it's for their continued improvement and if they were just ready to work and willing to give their best they'd be thankful for the bullying, and because they also dish out some praise when they get bored I have the impression they're trying to sell this as some weird kind of "tough love". I really hope they're all actors, this is so painful, and I shall not watch this any more, pah. I'm too old for this shit.
