This was awesome! I didn't watch the earlier Smallville seasons to jump on the Chloe/Lex ship but I think I might have to now. This was fabulous! I am confused though...what exactly happened to Lex? He supposedly blew up in that warehouse but it turns out that it was really a clone. He's not got super powers...?

In any case, I LOVED it. Gonna read again. :D

In "Power" last year Lana stole the technology he was creating that would have allowed him to have super-speed, invulnerability, etc. In my version of events Lex used a clone of himself to fake his death (the way Lana did at the end of season 6), and kept copies of Dr. Grohl's research that he used to outfit himself with a new "suit" like Lana's. So in this fic he does have super-powers (and hair! I've heard rumors that MR said he might come back if he didn't have to shave his head, so I grew Lex's hair back as a nod to that).

And I definitely recommend catching up on early-seasons Chlex. So much potential!

Chloe and Lex have such a dislike for each other but there is also an odd form of respect in their conversations and actions which I also like.

I like the "worthy adversaries" vibe they have. They dislike one another's priorities but they each recognize the other as a force to be reckoned with. And I think Lex was intrigued by many of Chloe's actions this past year.
