“You’re too good for this!” She wanted to accuse him of just wanting to spend more time with her, but she couldn’t do that with those anguished eyes in front of her. Why wouldn’t he understand? She wasn’t too good. Not too good for anything. Heaven had rejected her. If that didn’t prove how unworthy she was, then craving sex with an evil, unsouled vampire certainly did. No matter how much said vampire might love her; how much his genuine desire to take care of her and hers might be undeniable - lying, trembling just below the anger in his voice.
