Ha! Imagine that! I'm going off about how I want this and that from my relationship and Norm already had it planned out, was just trying to keep secrets from me. Well I'm engaged now, trying to think about wedding dates and also when we'd want to get to work on having a baby.

I've known Norm for about 15 years or so now, and I want to say that you two were made for each other. Though he is a very private person when it comes to relationships, I know that he has searched for someone to complete him.
Oh, who am I? I'm John, I was his captain when he was active in the Klingon club. That helped bring him into my circle of friends. Norm and I had alot of adventures together and shared many laughs. To me, though I am older than he is, he is still one of my best friends. I just wish we kept in touch better. If he never talked about me to you, that's a shame.
My wife had almost the exact same dental experience as you did. Back in July she had a broken tooth removed and ended up getting a dry socket. She started having a pain in her jaw and ear that made her go back last week and have a wisdom tooth removed. Julie is very scared of the dentist, and the closest one she trusted was almost 2 hours from our house. But she is the love of my life and I didn't want to see (or hear) her suffer.
I have alot of stuff we can talk about, but I'm not sure how much room I get, so I'll give you the gist of it all.
Julie and I are Pagan. To be more specific, she's more of a Kitchen Witch, and I follow more of a Druid path. We have to keep our religion a secret in this small town. My family doesn't know, nor would understand, her family doesn't really care and are happy we have something to believe in. It took us a while to figure which was the best path for us. I have read alot of Buddhist writings, but not an expert on it. But I do have an old hippie friend who is and could help out if you had any questions. About 5 years ago my wife and I moved out of the Dallas area to where life is slower, and unfortunately narrower in mind. So we keep to ourselves and if we are ever asked, we tell them we are Church of Christ. That usually gets them off our back LOL (I was raised CoC). I'm still cautious who I tell though.
Our wedding cost us about $400 or so. It all depends on what and where you want to have it. We had it in the backyard of our old house, my college professor is an ordained minister (as am I)and performed the wedding, we borrowed folding chairs from the city, and the list goes on. I told Julie she should write a book about it (she's a writer as well). But a wedding can cost what ever you want. We thought about Vegas, but it ended up being cheaper to do it this way.
Children. That's a subject we have been discussing as well. We both are up in the air if we want one. We both agree that having a child not only shows the love between two people, but it's the only solid proof that we can be immortal (passing on our genes). But we aren't excited about it as most couples would be. I'm a firm believer in genetics. On one hand with our IQ's, artistic talents, and such we would have a good chance of having a child that would excel further than we have. But then again, we might end up raising my sister, who was a hell raiser. But with our guidance and patience, we could probably do it.
LOL I could go on and on. Give me a shout if you'd like to talk. We are going to be in the 'lothian this weekend. If mom is having a cook-out, I wouldn't mind if you two came down to visit.

Yeah, Norm's mentioned you before and having to wear a kilt at the wedding. : ) Different stories here and there.
As far as Buddhism goes, I'm finding there's actually a lot more in the Dallas area than I would have realized. There's actually a Theravada temple here in Irving I'm interested in visiting. Speaking to someone else though would be excellent, I've been kind of hitting the books for now but there's a few things it would be easier to go over with a live person and not simply read. Norm at least is also interested in meditation, I'm thinking about the two of us heading to the Meditation Center in Dallas to work on that.
Yeah I can understand keeping quiet about paganism. People don't seem to mind Buddhism too much, they don't feel too threatened by it I suppose, but paganism I know has to be a different matter altogether. Actually I'd be interested in learning a bit about druidism myself. I recently did some research into Celtic culture when attempting to draft ideas for a vampire novel and I'd be interested in seeing the modern take on it.
But yeah...we should continue this conversation in person.
