Once again, after laying in bed for four hours, having taken two sleeping pills, I am awake. I started reading up on my Chinese zodiac symbol: the rat. Not that I believe in these sorts of things-especially generic descriptions of a year full of people (a lot of my friends are my age and are definitely of contrasting personalities)-but that's what exhausting news and entertainment Web sites will do to an insomniac.
After many false trait after trait, the alleged successful career path of a rat pleased me: "Good career choices include: administrator (ok), director (no), manager (hmm ok), entrepreneur (bah), broadcaster (sorta), writer (check), musician (meh), stand-up comedian (contrary to the opinions of some, not for me), politician (ha!), lawyer (hmm), researcher (not entirely), and race car driver (!!!)."
Race car driver! Just as I've been telling new people I meet since being laid off!
Or perhaps I've been watching entirely too much Top Gear lately...
