Ducks
Now, I really hate Canada Geese. They're aggressive, tend to obstruct things, poop everywhere, and are very annoying in general. Other freshwater waterfowl, I'm down with. Every time I've passed by the artificial pond next to the ed school the past few weeks, I've seen the same mated pair; the most beautiful ducks I've ever seen, seriously. The male looks like a mallard, except bigger, with less brown and more green, with a light-golden breast instead of white. The female is almost 100% a soft shade of gold, with only a little bit of brown on her face and wings.
The lake is a perfect place for them, since it's loaded with goldfish and other medium-sized feeders, and they have practically zero predators and competitors since it's an artificial lake near a construction site, but that's not the point. I'm not usually a bird person, but these ducks are simply the most gorgeous ducks ever. If this was Hollywood in the 1950s they'd be Lauren Bacall and James Dean or something. If anyone recognizes that description, please tell me so I can download a few pictures. Right now they're the homescreen of my phone.
