live

I'm ready to perform live. The plan is to go on early during a drum machine museum party at my loft. This will happen in August. August 13 to be exact.

I understand now that I need some gear. You can't do it all on your laptop. Well, you can but it sucks. It's not fun and the crowd doesn't respond well to it - especially for a new-b.

I ordered a midi controller so that should come in the mail soon. Hopefully that will give me more hands on control of mixing and effects. Lately I've been thinking that I don't want my effects to come through my computer. I want an FX processor. The Kaos Pad sounds appealing right now but I don't really like the idea of buying one. The whole idea of having a touch pad is kind of stupid, actually. When I use a computer, I have no interest in using a trackball, so why would I want something similar when I'm making music?

It's all about Knobs and sliders. Sometimes keys too.

I have been thinking about "performer" names and hating everything I come up with.

....

The set is good. It will start something important in this scene. People are too nice here. Their music is too N-I-C-E. Fuck nice. If I want nice, I'll smoke pot. ...Precisely why I don't smoke pot. Now you get it. So, in short...it will be mean, beat driven, melodic, noisy, and industrial. And something that only I could create. That's not always a good thing. Evidence of that is my earlier work at You of Em.

I can't listen to that shit anymore. My face gets very red.

Fuck
