Finally got DSL up and running. I'm sharing it with my 5 housemates but so far it seems pretty fast. When we last left off I was moving into a loft downtown. I'm happy to report that I am moved in. There's still alot of stuff in boxes but I have a clothes rack (alas, no closet) and a futon bed. Future plans involve building a loft bed, putting in shelving for sweaters and t-shirts, tatami mat, and applying some sort of glossy finish to the brick walls in my room.

Saturday we have our house warming party. 3 DJ's/performers will play IDM/glitch/house throughout the night along with 3 visual artists working with film projection and video mixing. Right now we're working on the ceiling decorations and the trick is to make them like they should not be. Plastic sheeting is the way to go but I fear we may be out of time considering the other stuff we have to do.

Every Sunday we buy fresh fish at the market, clean them (cut the heads off and remove guts), and make sashimi. We eat like kings and I couldn't be happier. Tonight Erin, a local film maker, arranged a date for himself at our space because he did not want to pay for dinner at a restaurant. His friend, Nico, made some righteous pasta and treated us all to a candlelit dinner. I'm not sure how well the date went. She didn't eat much and seemed uninterested about the party this weekend. The right gal would have been impressed by the effort he put into wining and dining her but maybe she was shy.

Next week I will start working at the Academy. Thursday I have my final interview. So far so good. I've been reading all that I can about SQL Server 2000 and even tried to install Windows 2000 Server but unfortunately the copy I had was Japanese and when I finished the whole setup process (with help from my Japanese roomate, Mickey, translating the characters for me) I was faced with a log in screen asking me to enter the admin password and I thought, "I never created an admin password". Needless to say, I had to reformat the hard drive to completely uninstall it.

Soon I will buy a digital camera and post pictures of my building. I think you'll appreciate them.
