Ok love ya'll (must learn this word to minggle in the Tulsa crowd)
Hahaha.
i'm gonna start listenin to audiobooks again in the dark with a candle and a glass of wine... i mean juice.. ha!
Wine is just juice that's aged properly. ;-)
the other party tends to jump out inmediatly and say something similar or BETTER than the other person.
I know what you mean. That can get petty annoying if they do that all the time. Sometimes I even catch myself doing it, and I feel pretty stupid afterwards. For some reason it seems more easy for me to do that around some people than it does others. Maybe we do it around people we don't really feel we have that much in common with. So instead of having a real conversation, we just end up "one up"-ing each other. Whatever the case, if you really are interested in someone as person than you shouldn't find yourself doing that, I think.
I guess there are sometimes when you have a story that is so good you find it hard not to share. Sometimes, though, I have to tell myself, "Pat, despite how cool your story is, why don't you just let them tell their's. It's the polite thing to do." It's a lot better to develop a good friendship by being able to listen than "impressing" people with your cool stories. (And sadly, usually you don't really impress them at all, except with how impolite you can be).
