Lara doesn't wince nor twitch as she watches the dream unfold, even when the Russian kills the wounded man. It's things she's seen before in her line of work after all. Still, there's a crease in her elegant eyebrow: that man certainly doesn't know what mercy means.
She waits for Elena to calm down before she speaks]
I'm sorry for your lost. He was a friend of yours?
[Lara makes a note to ask Drake if the Russian got what he deserved in the end]

Breaths calming, the reporter shifted gently as she tried to decide if she really wanted to talk about this. Then again perhaps it would help her in the end. ]
He- [ She hesitates and just gives a stiff nod, then realizes the other woman might not see it. ] -a close friend, yes.

[Lara rarely gives in to comforting strangers, less alone female ones, but she knows all too well how the other woman must feel. And then she figures out that the blond might need a little bit of incentive to confide in her, so she talks first]
This...this is not unfamiliar to me. [She did lost Alex for a moment against the Illuminati while they were searching for the Triangle of Light.] And as much as revenge feels good for a moment, it only last if you do it for the right reasons. For selfless reasons, to be honest.
[Because then you know you've done something that would make the ones you lost proud of you, instead of doing something they would frown upon.]

Even if it were Lazarevic, even though he deserved it, the reporter wouldn't be able to handle the feelings that would come with accepting having done something like that to another human being, monster though he may be. ]
I'm not sure what there is to say.
[ The dream said it all, for the most part. The fact that it haunted her was another showing sign of how it was making her feel, but for as much as Elena liked to talk she couldn't find the words she needed to get past what had happened. By all means the woman should want to talk about it, it would be wiser than letting it fester.
Unfortunately, Elena simply didn't know what to say. ]

Depends on what field you work, but I suppose so. Although I'm not used to losing my cameramen like that.
[ And she'd better not lose her treasure hunter that way, either. Or she'd find a way to reanimate the dead and kill him again herself for leaving her. ]

[ Fair point indeed, although she still didn't really know how to go about discussing it; more so with someone she didn't know. That simply brought her back to thinking about who she could even remotely begin to speak with about the whole thing and the only person here she knew well enough to do so was Nate.
And she'd be damned if she'd discuss it in depth with him. ]

Mm, yeah- I heard about it. I'm going to see if I can take up a position, I think it would help to be a distraction of sorts.
[ Not that she thinks she'll find anything to report about, really. ]
Oh- [ For a brief moment she looks up to the camera to look over the woman slightly more closely than before. Nate mentioned a Lara; perhaps she's the same girl? Shrugging it off, she shifts to look away for the most part once more. ] I'm Elena. Elena Fisher.

She catches that closer look and blinks. Do they know each other?]
It's nice to meet you, Elena. [And then she cuts the chase, the question asked out of curiosity.]
How do you know Nathan? [The man is easy enough to recognize in her dream and Lara can't help to wonder what a journalist does around a man like that.]

[ Letting a soft sigh pass her lips, she can only assume she's made the right guess and this woman is indeed the one that Nate mentioned. Well, that's one mystery solved! Score one for the blond. ]
Nate and I sort of go... way back, actually.
I'm an archaeological reporter and he's a, well... [ Treasure hunter. Ugh. ] -Anthropologist. [ Sort of. ]
We worked together.
[ Close enough, mm? After all, they did work together. ]

[She raises an eyebrow slowly, easily indicating her suspicions about this. Not that she thinks Elena is lying to her, but she wouldn't be surprised, at all, if Nate never really admitted his real profession. She wouldn't either after all. Still, it's a bit fishy that the blond believed him, she seems smarter than that.]
Anthropologist, huh? And you really believe that?

[ Why, she didn't know. It wasn't like he was the type of person to hide what he did after all! So she shrugged her shoulders gently and glanced to the woman again. ]
He's a treasure hunter and he told me about a find he was going after. I thought my viewers would like that and offered to help foot the bill for him to locate his treasure so long as we got to record it.
After that, it's mostly all... Downhill from there. The expedition, I mean.
[ Elena lifts her gaze and looks away just slightly from the camera. It's not only the expedition that went downhill from there, actually. But that need not be said. ]
Year or so later, I met up with him completely by chance in Nepal, where- [ Her thin brows knit into a frown as she lowers her gaze to her lap. ] -what happened in my dream took place.

[She listens to Elena's tale about her work with Nate and she can't help the smirk on her lips]
Somehow, I am not surprised to hear that. [On both the expedition and what ever makes Elena look away from the screen. Lara has met men like Nate before, they don't have much time and space for a white picket kind of girl. Lara isn't so different from them after all.
The tomb raider nods, able to think of a few reasons why a treasure hunter would find his way in Nepal]
Nepal. That's a long way from temples most people know. [AKA how good is he, really?]

The jobs that he takes on aren't typically ones that most people would know how to get to. That's why he's seen as one of the better hunters out there. He's smart, he's really good on the hunt. Things only seem to boggle him down for moments before he manages to figure out whereto next and how to get there. It's really interesting to watch him work.
[ Interesting and dangerous. Can he for once just not be shot at throughout the entirety of a temple when she's with him next? Supposing she ever is with him inside of one again. Turning her gaze away again, she shifts somewhat uncomfortably at the realization of the praise she's throwing Nate's way. Clearing her throat, happy that he can't hear her right now, she shrugs gently at Lara. ]
I was in Nepal chasing a man who was supposed to be dead. Turns out the same man is who hired the people working with Nate, not that Nate knew that at the time. [ She sighs softly. ] His run with luck has never really been the best, unfortunately ( ... )
