I’m… Suddenly really glad that I didn’t eat any of this candy. It’s not really my kind of thing, even if it was Halloween. Neither are parties, really. Then again you’d think that being stuck here with nothing to do that I might…Is anybody aware of how long the effects of that stuff lasted, exactly? Certainly was a bit… Entertaining to read some ( Read more... )

It shouldn't last that long, those sorts of things usually don't.

One can only hope, I suppose. It's certainly been awkward.

It's not as bad when the chips malfunction, or when people's emotions start being effected. I think I would take the candy over having all my feelings taken away, or becoming self destructive.

Malfunction? [This is the first she's heard of that.] Wait, you mean these things can remove emotions?

From time to time, though this hasn't happened in months, things may and can happen to those still with chips. Though, the last time this happened it didn't matter if you had a chip or not....

Sometimes people became self destructive, other times it was like they had no emotions, they didn't care about anything. Some of the things this candy does has also been in effect, such as always lying, always telling the truth. Increased aggression... depression.... It's bothersome.

You're kidding... [Ugh, the disturbing grows.]

So there's more than just worrying about soldiers and creatures prowling the city to do here, now I've got to worry about losing my mind too.

It's something to keep in mind, but a rarer occurrence.

Rare or not, it's pretty unsettling to think of being able to lose things like that. Personal things, things that make up who you are...

I would call it frightening....

That's another good word for it, that's for sure.

And disturbing is another. But, at least it's rare, and usually can be avoided. A good reason to try and not have a chip.

Fair point. But...
How do you get rid of a chip if you have no idea where it is in your body? I'm not so interested in cutting blindly, after all.

The doctors usually figure out the location eventually, and I beleive the current one is known. Usually only people with abilities worry about it, but it's probably something that should concern everyone.

You mean supernatural beings, don't you? [Yeah, she's totes not one of them. Unless you count one-handing a grenade launcher.] I guess that means I have a bit less to worry about?

So you're suggestion is get the thing out asap, mm?

I wouldn't say supernatural, that implies everyone with a power isn't human.

Exactly. There's nothing gained from having it in you, and it seems like something one should want to remove as quickly as possible.

Well...
Not necessarily. Not completely, anyway. The term 'supernatural' just means above and beyond what's considered to be 'normal,' it's really the term 'normal' that would be subjective depending on who you're speaking to. Either way, I just mean people or persons with abilities like... Magic and whatnot. [She's also still sort of in denial about magic in general, though.]

I agree, I'm not really fond of having it in. I don't suppose you know someone I can talk to about it?
