So it's Mother's Day again. I fucking hate mother's day. I hold it in similar regard to Valentine's Day, really. It's just a made-up holiday to force us to buy presents, or at least a card. Don't get me wrong - I feel the same way about Father's Day, although I could potentially benefit from that holiday somewhere down the line. But Father's Day isn't nearly as over the top, either. A dad is content to have a day to just sit around, drink a beer, and maybe get a tie from someone. Moms expect jewelry, or at least a card from fucking every member of the family. When I went to UKrops to get my mom a card, more than half of the mother's day cards were "To My Wife" cards. WHY? She's not your fucking mom! Get your mom a card, not your wife!
