Well, hello friends. It's been a while. Last time we talked I was tackling the very busy month of February. And now it's March. I survived February. Slept some, but had many early mornings/late nights. Was amazingly productive. Had to be. Thought I would have a quieter month after I got through spring break (which started today). WRONG!
Before we discuss March let's briefly review February. Trouble Tree went very well, all things considered. Glad I had a fantastic team to work with. Enjoyed playing stage manager and doing graphic design things like create the program, poster, and brochure. School of Rock is going to be very fun. Phil and I loaded in last weekend and did our basic cuing today. Tomorrow we are going in to really rock out the movers. We've rented two small entours and are running them off an ETC board. Which yes, is difficult, but a good learning experience. And it's nice to get out of Boston for a while.
ACTF stuff. So I found out today that design materials do not actually have to be sent out by March 9th, but rather April 1st. Yea, thanks, after I stayed late last night finishing so Rafael could send it out for me while I was in Manchester. The good news is that it is essentially all done and that I will have time to fix the things I want to. So that's nice, because frankly this month is insane.
So I'm here in Manchester now, then going back to Boston tomorrow evening, staying through Sunday in the city and then will return to Manchester Monday and stay until Friday afternoon when the show is struck. Saturday Cate and I are taking an early bus to NYC, seeing King Lear that night, staying Sunday and seeing shows/exploring, and helping at a Gala on Monday (where some cool people like Norbert Leo-Butze are performing :-) The next weekend I really want to fit in a vist to Portland, but that will depend on exactly what I do not finish between now and then. Then the weekend after that I'm designing the Boston Gay Men's chorus concert in the Majestic. The weekend after that I'm designing Urinetown at Boston University (a student group is producing it in a law auditorium so I have the joys of working in a space where I have to rent everything). That will finish out the month. So essentially I am designing, and hopefully making some good connections for next year, because I have pretty much decided to stay in Boston for the year to work and explore grad schools. Had some really good reactions to my portfolio at the job fair last week, so hopefully I'll be getting some calls. In the meantime, it does mean finding a new place to live and new people to live with. Things I don't want to deal with at this moment in time. But need to. I really wish I had figured out how to bottle time and save it for another day. I'd be so super rich.
Anyways, I got up waaaay too early today and am starting to not see straight so I should either cut my losses and go to bed ridiculously early or get some of the stuff done that I need to. G'night peeps!
