OK. As mentioned in the HMD, Dracula has something new under his cape. That is-RAVING INSANITY!
After months of trying to fake his way through “redemption” without clear understanding of why to do it (besides getting the hell off the Barge), Dracula has discovered that he actually is starting to change-and he’s panicking. His sense of self is at stake, and coupled with the mounting pressures of the last seven months, relative isolation, some issues with his Warden and several painful realizations, it is going to drive him first to obsession and then a mounting delusion.
Specifically, he’s going to start brooding on his one unredeemed Bride, Marishka, whom he sees as the only being who accepts him as he is instead of how she wants him to be. This obsession will quickly develop into recurring and very vivid dreams, and eventually into the full blown delusion that Marishka has come back to him and he must now hide her in his cabin.
At this point, which will happen about a month hence, “Marishka” will become more and more demanding, insisting that he hunt, fight, kill, and generally go back to his old monstrous self. Whether he caves in to the pressure or not, who gets hurt and if anyone gets killed depends on what else he is dealing with and what measures those who discover his insanity take to combat it. The endgame of this plot will coincide with next application period, so it shouldn’t run up against any other plots. Once Dracula has been convinced to reject the delusion, he will have to recover fully, of course, but a lot of that can be handled behind the scenes or in follow-up plots.
I’m looking for more people to 1. notice that Dracula’s Not Right, 2. Clash with him or be victimized by him in the endgame, and 3. sort out what to do to make him start fighting the delusion. I'll be putting up a second plot post/request for endgame people a few days before it starts, but in the meantime, feel free to reply if you want your character in on this.
