Today they both happen to be out at the same time. She briefly glares over at his house while setting up some Reindeer on her roof. But there's a proud smirk on her face. Because she thinks she's gonna win this silent war of Christmas Spirit.]

[Silent war of Christmas spirit? Mark Hoffman knows Christmas. He does Christmas. He gets this holiday and for the first time in forever he's got all of his family in his house so he's...working on something.

Something secret. Something he's been working on for days.]

[calling over] those are some nice reindeer.

[Buffy gives him a delayed reaction on purpose, as if too ~*important*~ to respond right away. With detached interest she pulls her eyes away from her reindeer and smiles a fake smile.]

Thanks. [She calls back.] Your lights look extra-sparkly. [Condescending compliment!]

[There's a low chuckle. Then a small child appears below him and he waves.]

...You know, the wife's got a Santa clause she'd be happy to let you borrow.

[Guh. Something about that statement grates her nerves. She smiles brighter, fake, and her voice is way too chipper.] Oh, thanks so much! But I'm pretty sure I'll be fine with the one I have. [That isn't up yet. And she doesn't have yet. She should probably wait to see what he does next before she gets new, larger, shinier decorations.]
