Who: Rex, Open Where: Infirmary OR Rex's room if anyone's stopping by post-infirmary When: Today through the next few days, I suppose. Warnings: DOUBTFUL
Iago spent a lot of time with Rex, though even he had grown tired of simply sitting. So, when he did visit, he brought the DS with him. Which is what he was getting to as he slipped through into Rex's room. By this time, it was just habit to go to a chair and sit, so he didn't even look at Rex, who he still assumed to be unconscious. Instead, his free hand went down and brushed past Rex's hair.
"Afternoon," he said softly, still not looking at him. "I'm a little late today. It's...winter again. Which means mistletoe. So I have to make sure I'm alone everywhere I go."
Rex had sort of zoned out, not feeling any rush to actually leave the infirmary. Not after the last time he'd angered the entire Barge. He was, perhaps, in the safest place he could be. He opened his eyes when he heard somebody else approach, then turned his head when he felt a fingers brush through his hair.
Smiling faintly, he said, "Be careful. Last year, some of us were infected with holiday cheer."
Iago jerked a bit, fumbling with the DS so badly that it fell out of his hands and onto the bed, thankfully. He would have been really upset if it had fallen to the floor and broken. Shutting the lid, he turned to Rex and cupped his face in his hands and leaned down to kiss his forehead.
Rex brought his arms around Iago and sat up a little to cling to him, a gesture of open affection that normally would be reserved for the bedroom and not here, where anyone could walk in and see. Right now, he didn't care about his image.
"A month?" He shook his head. "Not nearly that long." He paused. "Or...it hasn't felt that long." He sat down on the bed beside him, an arm around the other man. He didn't care about who saw at the moment, either. He was just happy to have him awake.
"Capa hasn't come yet?" He rolled his eyes as if to say 'typical.' The soldier shrugged and kissed him again. "We can go to your room if you want. I'll walk with you."
He wasn't going to say it, but he wanted to make sure that he got there alright. That no one decided to be an idiot.
Rex shook his head. "He's hands-off in general. I assume my coma would make him moreso." He sat up even more, just to match Iago's level, and rested his head on the other man's shoulder. "I'd like that. Later-- after I receive my... discharge." Loathe as he was to admit it, he didn't want to be caught walking alone, either. "Just... for now, tell me what I missed."
"It's been quiet. There were...winged creatures that attacked everyone, though. Well, attacked might not be the best word. They certainly created chaos. Changing people's hair colors. Putting makeup on the men. Messing things up and locking doors." He snickered. "Thankfully, they created a little excitement. There wasn't much going on before then."
"Really?" He laughed, feeling more... normal, now that they were talking about something that had nothing to do with his escape attempt, his coma, others' anger... "Did they do anything to you? Mess up your clothes?"
"You would enjoy that, wouldn't you?" He leaned over to kiss him soundly. "Because of that, you don't get to know." Not that they had done any substantial damage, but that wasn't the point.
"Afternoon," he said softly, still not looking at him. "I'm a little late today. It's...winter again. Which means mistletoe. So I have to make sure I'm alone everywhere I go."
