Who: Una and O'Brien What: Having a chat whilst looking for their quest item in port Where: Somewhere in Rubacalva When: Early on in the port Warnings: Probably none
Una sighed. Of course O'Brien was taking it the wrong way; she should have expected as much.
"He wanted my help, O'Brien. He-" Well. He wasn't sorry, exactly, was he? Oh god, they really were like children sometimes. "He wanted me to try and help fix things."
"Do you really think that was he was trying to do?" She couldn't keep from sounding aghast. "After all this time, after all the two of you have been through together-and no, I know what you're going to say, that's what you'd have done once-do you really think his only intent was to drive you off?"
Not that she claimed to fully understand Beatty's motives herself. But she was pretty certain, from their conversation, that O'Brien had the wrong end of the stick.
"Maybe he took it out of curiosity. Curiosity makes people do stupid, inconsiderate things, after all, even to people they otherwise wouldn't." She leaned back on the bench. "Perhaps he thought there was some way that this would actually help you."

"I beg your pardon. I was simply taken by surprise by ... well, by your self-awareness."
It could have been sarcastic. But it definitely wasn't.
