I don't want to fall and say I lost it all

Who: Bones and Jim
Where: The CES and such.
When: After people have been freed from the CES.
What: Thank god you're alive, etc.
Warnings: Bitching?

It had not been a good first month on the Barge, but at least everything was apparently back to normal. He wondered if that meant he'd actually have an easier time in coming weeks, or if he'd just get more convinced that if not for the deal he'd made in exchange for working here, this was the dumbest thing he'd ever agreed to. He was exhausted, a little roughed up and emotionally drained, and he really just wanted to collapse somewhere for a few hours. And maybe shower. And change clothes.

But there was one last thing he had to do.

As soon as McCoy had heard everything was back to normal, he'd headed up to the CES almost one hundred percent sure he'd be looking for a body. No one had heard from Jim in hours, and considering the way things had looked over the last few days, he really couldn't dismiss the horrible feeling that something had gone wrong and gone wrong badly. But there was still a part of him that was trying to hope the idiot had just gotten lost or distracted by something shiny or something, instead of getting eaten by a monster or whatever the hell else had happened in the CES over the last few days.
