George drives...you crazy? 19centconstable October 22 2011, 23:57:44 UTC
[The Ferrari is bright red, because why shouldn't it be?

George has an unexpected lead foot, and a bit of difficulty with turning signals.]

[Parker wasn't at all surprised that the car was red. When you're driving a sexy fast car, it should be crimson or sleek black. There should be a law about it someday.

Keeping one eye on the speedometer and the other on the road Parker shouted.]

Blinker!

[And George obediantly turns on the wrong signal.]

This is incredible!

[George doesn't seem concerned that they are going faster than everyone else. Isn't that the point?]

No. Right one when you're turning right.

[Parker held onto the door for a moment, torn between amusement and concern for both of their personal safety.]

George, slow fucking down.

Oh. Right. Sorry.

[They slow to a stop by the side of the road. George strokes the steering wheel lovingly.]

I don't suppose there's any way we could get this back onto the ship with us?

Nope. Where the hell would we put it? After all it's not like we've got space for a fucking race course.

[But there was CES.]

Motorcycles maybe. You ever been on one of them?

Yes in fact! Sergeant Howie left his to me. It's in my room.

[George taps the car's instrument panel.]

You wouldn't like to help me purchase some jewelry, would you?

Have you tried using it in the CES?

[Maybe they needed dirtbikes instead. Something to think about for Christmas.]

Sure, I can help you pick shit out for the girl back home.

That's where he taught me to ride it.

[George grins crookedly.]

Or at least something I might sell without it seeming too suspicious.

Simple and classic then. That's easy.

Considering we're rich assholes at the moment, let's head into the city. We'll worry about fucking parking later.

[The tires squeal as they pull out, but George manages to drive them to the jewelry district without killing anyone. The car is then handed over to a garage's valet, who looks as excited to drive it as George. George adjusts his bowler hat and straightens his tie. No one has questioned his Victoria suit. Perhaps they think he's steampunk.]

Where to now?

[Parker laughed when there was the peel of tires, she couldn't help it. It was funny how quickly George was taking to going fast, and she expected that he was going to miss it once they were back aboard the Barge. Parker watched the valet carefully, but she didn't worry. If the kid stole the car, then they'd just go and pick up another one for the next day.]

When in doubt, find the biggest and most expensive jewelry store, Georgie.

[George scans the signage.]

Cartier: I believe I've heard of them.

[Parker made a nod of approval.]

Platinum, [she announced.] Is always good to have on hand. And small diamonds. Anything too overly flashy and people start to think you're up to something.

We certainly wouldn't want that.

[George peers into display cases, his hands in his pockets.]

This is all a bit overwhelming. Everything is beautiful.
