Wanda was busy putting away bowls, trying to ignore the itch between her shoulderblades that was almost constant these days. That damnable watched feeling. Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Rhade was here, he was badass and decent both, and if he was keeping his cool than so could she--

And then the plate smashed and she jumped so hard it felt like she was an inch from picking herself off the ceiling. She turned and saw him leaning on the sink like that, and pressed her lips together.

Fishing in a bottom cabinet, she came out with the broom and dustpan and moved to clean up the mess. Her eyes met his briefly, offering a bit of sympathy, even as she chewed her lip. For a few moments she didn't know what to say.

He shrugged as he sighed, ambling over to clean up the mess. "I would prefer it if they would hurry up and say what they wanted. This is becoming tedious."

And here he was. Not really having to put up with it. Not really. But then if he left, there would be that constant, sinking feeling of having lost a Pride. Even if he knew he had descendants, successful ones and very much like him.

He cleared his throat. Now that they were talking, he might as well bring it up.

"I saw you were angry. I tried to talk to her, about what she did. She didn't understand how it was possibly wrong if she fed us, and then she told me to go fuck myself." He seemed to get that a lot. Maybe it had something to do with being a dick. "Don't get yourself thrown in Zero and have to take longer to get your powers because of a mad-woman. It wouldn't undo anything."

"Maybe they can't talk." Which was somehow creepier than the idea that they were waiting to talk. "Maybe they're specifically here to distract and unnerve us."

Bringing up Rachel made Wanda a little sick to her stomach from anger. "She kidnapped you and two other of my friends and made you go through exactly the same thing I did. Okay, so at least she fed you. So fucking what? She needs to be made to feel as helpless and humiliated as kidnap victims do."

Her lips twisted at his urging to not take a punishment in return for teaching that bitch a lesson. "She deserves worse than zero. All I want is to see that smug look break down and the tears start. I want to see her broken." And she had a definite idea as to how to do it, which made his urgings even more frustrating.

"It might not undo anything, but...the one who did this to me wasn't even punished. He was rewarded with graduation. How can I let her get away with this too, when I have a chance of giving you guys some justice?"

Thing was, Wanda (and Vanessa) were the only ones here who rightfully could teach her a lesson. He was all about the egoism, but he wasn't about bullying when the playing field wasn't fair and now that he was armed and at full strength, and Rachel had her powers removed? For egoism to matter, over-powering had to count for something ( ... )
