Who: Rex and Hoffman, eventually Iago
Where: THE SHOWERS BECAUSE ALL FIGHTING HAPPENS THERE FOREVER
When: Second night of the flood
Warnings: Language (PROBABLY), mild violence and a few references to past sexual assault.

Provoking Hoffman over the Network was probably-- no, definitely-- a terrible idea. At the time, Rex didn't care. He was incensed over his brief conversation with Buffy, and so he lashed out at Hoffman because, hell, he wanted to. He wanted to provoke him, make him feel low and terrible for what his counterpart in... whatever port it was had done. And then, when it happened, he took a step back and realized that he'd probably gone a step too far. It was fine poking Hoffman a little bit at a time, just enough to piss him off, but not enough to get the big psychopath to target him.

It would pass, though... He just had to lay low for a while, not go anywhere without protection. Problem was, he needed to take a shower (well, okay, wanted, since Rex was a neat freak), and he was lacking in the protection department. Costigan was gone and Ana couldn't exactly follow him into certain places like, say, the inmate showers. Even if she could, he wasn't about to ask his sister to do that for him. Who else could he look to for help? Perry? No way. That would be too weird. Iago? He didn't want to introduce that kind of element into their relationship. It had always made him feel so... inadequate when he was with Wichita, the knowledge that she usually had to be the strong one because he couldn't. He wasn't going to do that with Iago.

So, after sending Iago a brief message that he was coming by-- simply because he wanted to come by and ignore the stupid Network-- Rex headed to the showers to take a quick rinse. Sure, he'd had run-ins here before, BUT THIS TIME, SURELY, THERE WOULD BE NO PROBLEM. Seriously, how many times could somebody jump him in the shower?
