Arkady bounced along, pushing a battered tea-cart with four pots of tea and several mismatched cups on it. "Tea Fairy! Pineapple mint sweet or plain!"

She giggles and shakes her head. "Actually pineapple mint is mint that smells and tastes a bit like pineapple. There is also a chocolate mint!" She pulls a sprig out of her pocket and offers it.

More like they found a mutant mint plant in their crop that smelled that way, and they outcrossed for it.

It started with monks crossbreeding peas. It's a tradition that has been in place for thousands of years. It gives us the biggest strawberries, and nectarines, and many other things. Horticulture. It's a lovely thing!
