TOSH & KIRK - semi-closed? WE'LL SEE. hopeless_hacker August 29 2011, 13:12:27 UTC
Monday evening and she was going out of her mind. Twenty-four hours with people she liked was enough to fray her nerves, and although she didn't dislike Prefect he was not good company for any extended length of time. And she hated Barron for killing O'Brien, even if she didn't like O'Brien much either.

Wearily, she took out her communicator and tapped out a message to Kirk. He was only about ten feet away, but she didn't want to start a spoken conversation that other people might think they could participate in.

Given that I'm here indefinitely and unable to die permanently, I would have thought it would be impossible to feel like my time was being wasted. It looks like I was wrong.

That message made him smirk a little bit. Jim glanced up at her for a moment before tapping out a response to her.

You mean that hanging out in Zero isn't your idea of a good time?

If Prefect gets out another board game, it will be Miss Sato in the interrogation room with the steel-framed chair.

Jim actually snorted at that. Hoping that no one was really paying attention to him, he kept his eyes firmly on the PADD in his lap. If anyone asked, he was going to lie and say it was Shego.

I'll try to discourage it the next time I see one. But why so tightly wound, Miss Sato?

She smiled at his snort and quickly pressed her lips together to stop it showing.

Let's just call this another in a relentless series of unnecessary complications to my life. It's all cumulative.

It's not that bad down here. You get to look at my pretty face all day.

I suppose that's a small ray of light in an otherwise dark situation.

I didn't quite catch why you were here to begin with?

I'm helping Prefect out. And there's the added bonus of getting to see your smiling face. And your legs. I like your legs a lot.

Toshiko hid a smile behind her communicator. As it happened, she was wearing a skirt that day because after a week it had felt like a novelty to have unbroken, evenly shaven legs.

You're not looking too shabby yourself today, Captain.

Jim glanced up at her for a moment again, smirking again. I noticed you slept somewhere else last night. How private is it?

She didn't look back at him, and she was fighting back a smile but there was something animated in her expression.

I was in the cell next door. It's not really private enough for anything that demands privacy.

I can be quiet.

Her eyes widened for a split second and she shot him a really-are-we-doing-this glance before concluding that yes, they were.

I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about, Jim.

You aren't that innocent. I know, because I remember some freaky things from you, Miss Sato.

She blushed. Anyone could have seen it if they'd been looking at her.

I don't think I can run to exhibitionism.

I can respect that. Floods couldn't last forever anyway, and they both had rather private rooms waiting for them after it was finished. Can I keep ogling your legs in the meantime?
