She saw movement in the mirror and waited, putting the final touches on her mascara before turning around to face him. "Good morning," she said with a small laugh. It was forced, but good enough for now.
"Did you sleep alright?" She put her hands on his hips and placed a kiss to his cheek.
"Exactly." She put a hand on his cheek. "Go get ready, then. We have to sneak out." Not that she was going to rush him. Spending time with him was the main goal. It didn't really matter where. Or what they were doing.
She moved away from him at that. "I'll get breakfast and meet you in the CES?" She just hoped that she could avoid as many people as possible.
She fished her phone out of her pocket and handed it to him. "Let me know if it goes off." God, she hoped Petronilla stayed alive and out of trouble today. The last thing she wanted was to deal with that. Though,s he supposed that no one would object if she passed responsibility along to someone else for the day.
Not that she would do that. The guilt would kill her either way. "I'll see you." She smiled at him and headed out, grabbing her bag and heading out the door.
It took her a bit longer as she was trying not to meet anyone's eye. She was trying not to do anything wrong. She wanted no attention on herself. Luckily, she was able to get through and get what they needed without incident and practically ran to the CES. If they were going to make it at sunrise, she didn't want to waste any time.
She smiled to see the door cracked open and stepped through.
She hurried over and reached out to take his hand. "Alright. We'll go for a walk. A slow one. I am in no hurry for anything today." She used her free hand to dig in her bag and brought out a bottle of water. She had come prepared.
She shrugged. "Well, then I was wrong. There are people who are as crazy as you. Getting up early to run. Who ever heard of that nonsense?" She was teasing, though, and headed up the hill with him.
"Well, if we don't hurry, we might miss the sunrise. But...if we do hurry, we might get there and have nothing to do. But, we're not hurrying anything today. So I think we have a dilemma."
She followed him, squeezing his hand tightly. "If we get up there and you suggest birdwatching...I'm going to ignore it," she threatened playfully, though she really had no intention of following through with it. If he wanted to look at sparrows all day, then she wouldn't object.
She felt her smile falter at that first statement, but she couldn't quite pinpoint why. Her bubble was so thin that anything was bound to break through. But she focused on walking instead and soon, her cheer, fake or not, returned.
"Well, I think I can indulge you in that." She couldn't stop the sad thoughts from coming, though. His last sunrise.
God. She wasn't going to get upset. Not this early.
